Ace Frehley zaps Milwaukee back in time

Iconic guitarist, founding member of KISS, and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Ace Frehley, landed for an intimate one night performance in one of Milwaukee’s top entertainment venues, Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Donning his brand new release, Space Invader, the space-rocker puts a modern twist on his classic signature.

Rising to musical fame during his years with KISS and riding the wave of his highly successful 1978 solo album, Frehley has been around and back for the past few decades. His Milwaukee setlist reflected a large portion of his early years, with emphasis on his KISS days.

Commenting on battling his substance abuse issues, Frehley claimed “I’ve been sober for awhile now,” as he lead into “Snowblind,” “this song is about cocaine, everyone was doing cocaine in the 70’s…well, except Gene and Paul” he joked. Frehley divided his time on stage battling with the his bandmates and making comments and jokes to fans. The intimate setting of Potawatomi’s Northern Lights Theater allowed fans to get right up to the stage – many not breaking their gaze on the guitarist for much of his set.

Focused and on point for the duration of the set, Frehley’s battle with substance abuse has clearly been won, and as he claims, he’s focusing more on his music and hopes fans will love 2014’s Space Invader, an album seemingly modeled off his 1978 solo debut.
