Rock USA roared into its sixth year, Slipknot headlining the mid-July Friday night show. Ditching classic rock for this 3-day run, Rock USA recruited Slipknot, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, Five Finger Death Punch, and Shinedown for this go round.

Trading rain for 90 degree temperatures, Rock USA not only took a stern new direction with the weather, but also with their lineup for Friday night. Swapping the classics for a newer generation’s take on rock music, Avenged Sevenfold changed the pace, headlining with support from Breaking Benjamin and Papa Roach.

Wisconsin festivals have fared pretty well this year avoiding inclement weather in exchange for cooler temperatures, or in some cases, scalding ones. However, night two of Oshkosh’s Rock USA did not have that privilege, instead experiencing near torrential rains on and off throughout the evening.

Now in its fifth year, Rock USA, the sister festival to the long-running Country USA music festival in Oshkosh, WI, pressed on into 2015 with Alice Cooper and Queensryche beginning a chilly and wet week of classic rock with other headliners Judas Priest, Avenged Sevenfold, and Def Leppard.

With a grin ear to ear and as enthusiastic as ever, Eric Church made his way back to Wisconsin and Country USA for 2015. Growing in popularity alongside similar artists Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, Eric Church was a suitable headliner for the sprawling country festival.

Rock USA continued Thursday night, Rob Zombie headlining some drastically more energetic fans. Like night and day compared to Three Days Grace the night before, the arena rock superstar proved to be the centerpiece of the festival.
