Brantley Gilbert’s edgy country at Summerfest

We’ve seen “old-time” country and pop country of sorts at Country USA, but what we’ve been missing is country with an edge. Something between the everyday country songs that modern radio seems to play relentlessly and Lynyrd Skynrd is what’s been missing.

Gary Allan & Rodney Atkins rock Country Throwdown, Summerfest

Headlining the Miller Lite Oasis last night was country star Gary Allan, performing on the Country Throwdown tour with Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson and Sunny Sweeny (Potawatomi Stage). It’s not often that we see a whole lot of country on the grounds stages at Summerfest but this year is proving to be a little different.

The Word Alive stoked to be with We Came As Romans

Wednesday, June 27th was opening day for Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Summerfest Rock stage kicked off with a bang featuring headliner We Came As Romans, supported by The Word Alive and various others.

Keith Urban closes out Country USA with a bang

Following the impressive performance of Clay Walker and his band, Keith Urban prepared to headline the final day of Y100’s Country USA at Ford Festival Park in Oshkosh, WI. Although this is a country festival, Keith Urban’s music isn’t pure country. As talked about before with Phil Vassar, some of the performers are more universal […]

Clay Walker surprises crowd before final headliner, Keith Urban

With the exception of last night’s opener Lee Ann Womack, I have been pretty impressed by the sub-headliner/opener performances this week at Country USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Phil Vassar put on a rockin’ show before Sugarland’s awesome set and Lee Ann Womack did a great job, but her performance just wasn’t for me. On the […]

Brad Paisley delivers a stellar performance to Oshkosh

Headlining day four of the massive country festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Country USA, 2011 CMT Artist of the Year, Brad Paisley, delivered a high-profile concert to remember.

Lee Ann Womack brings original ‘country’ to Country USA

If you’ve been at Country USA all week or in the years prior you know the performances just keep getting better and better as the week carries on. Nashville’s best converge on Oshkosh for the five day long festival with the biggest names in country music. Oh, and don’t forget your beer and cheese!

Sugarland Wraps up Night 3 of Country USA

Taking the stage shortly after the amazing performance of Phil Vassar (photos), Sugarland snuck up on the main stage of Country USA for a minimalistic opening with Jennifer Nettles singing and banging on a drum, backed by guitarist Kristian Bush for “Wide Open.” It was a nice deviation from the normal idea of breaking out […]

Warming up for the weekend with Phil Vassar – Country USA

Although Country USA started on Tuesday of this hellishly hot week in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, many were not able to make it out to Ford Festival Park until now for the star studded lineup that gets better and better every year.

Bidding farewell to Thrice

The day that any music fan dreads has come for artful rockers known as Thrice. Beauteous and experimentally successful tones have graced every song released by the highly talented band. Sadly after 13 years of amazing music, Thrice is calling it quits; at least for now. After the current tour this is it. Hopefully the band is wrong […]
